As Scott Labs’ Inside Technical Enology & Cellar Specialist you will be responsible for representing and supporting the Scott Labs portfolio of Fermentation, Enology, and Filtration products to the winemaking and specialty beverage community. Our world-class portfolio, deep product and process knowledge, and customer-centric service has made us the most trusted supplier in the industry. You will leverage your own industry knowledge and technical expertise, along with our 85+ years of experience, to provide the best customer experience possible. 

Responsibilties:

Technical Guidance & Support
  • Continuously grow product and market knowledge with a focus on how to benefit both the customer and the company; participate in educational opportunities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and communication to support and grow existing customer base
  • Provide customers with technical support on the portfolio via phone and email
  • Troubleshoot customer fermentation & filtration-related issues and guide customers toward recommended best practices for resolution
  • Provide fermentation, enology, and beverage stability technical support and communication as needed (company-wide)
  • Participate in and contribute to technical communication as needed including articles, handbook content, web content, seminars, speaking engagements, and digital outreach
  • Develop accounts by checking customer’s buying history, suggesting related and new items, and explaining technical features
Operations and Customer Service
  • Support enology, filtration, & brewing customer service
  • Manage our cases through our CRM platform
  • Enter, edit, and process orders or other transactions as required through the company ERP
  • Maintain accurate account and contact information
  • Effectively prioritize activities to meet or exceed company and department initiatives
  • Provide clear customer feedback to the company

As a Scott Labs’ Inside Packaging Sales & Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for representing the Scott Labs’ Cork & Packaging department to the wine and specialty beverage industry. This includes our world class portfolio of cork, screw caps, tin capsules, wire hoods, crown caps and bidules. As the go-to resource for packaging customers, you will leverage your own industry knowledge and technical expertise, along with our 85+ years of experience and in-house product experts, to provide the best customer experience possible, ensure packaging orders are executed and fulfilled in a timely manner, and help grow our department’s brand and mindshare as the leader in custom and stock closures.  

Responsibilties:

  • Accurately add customer and product information into the database
  • Input of all Sales orders for cork, quotes, and sample requests as well as any stock packaging supplies
  • Responsible for assisting a specific sales team. Interact with sales reps daily via email, phone or in person
  • Check for any pending/open orders and reach out to reps to advise as to what is being done with the order; take necessary action when no answer is received.
  • Monitor open orders cue daily and do a final review at the end of each monthly period
  • Communicate with credit department regarding orders being held
  • A passion for selling and relationship development
  • Inside Sales of packaging products including incoming calls and emails for packaging sales and orders
  • Internal phone support for product sales
  • Provide technical support for packaging items to customers when needed
  • Answer packaging related phone calls and correspondence
  • Follow up and triage any request sent to general mailbox and/or posted on our website
  • Monitor our web cork inventory levels and refill when necessary
  • Process and monitor cork reconditioning orders
  • Frequently communicate with our Production Dept regarding the status of pending cork orders
  • Frequently communicate with our Shipping/Receiving Dept re: outgoing orders, samples, receiving of vendor PO’s, product availability and location, shipping costs, etc.
  • Monitor inventory levels and send PO’s to vendors accordingly
  • Review vendor order confirmations for accuracy
  • Review vendor invoices and process for payment
  • Monitor vendor open PO’s cue in ERP and close PO’s when fully received
  • Process invoices from freight forwarders/US Customs/truckers
  • Pulling cork samples from sample requests in Salesforce
  • Process will call sample requests to clear them out of ERP
  • Assist with inventories and reconciliation of inventory
  • Keep sample product libraries clean, organized, and chronicled
  • Ship samples, color drawdowns, etc. to customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Cork and packaging background a plus
  • Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics NAV knowledge
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite a must
  • Experience and/or knowledge of the wine industry preferred
  • Inside Sales experience a must  
  • Must be able to work out of our headquarters in Petaluma, CA - this is not a remote position

As the Scott Labs Sales Representative for the North Bay region, you will be responsible for representing the Scott Labs brand and selling our world-class portfolio of value-add products to the wine market.
